Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Controls Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical control systems across our production facilities. Your expertise will ensure optimal operation of machinery and automation systems, contributing to continuous improvement and safety standards. Duties Diagnose and repair electrical control systems including low voltage and high voltage circuits, sensors, and distributed control systems (DCS) to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical diagrams, and AutoCAD drawings to troubleshoot issues accurately. Maintain and calibrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs), vision inspection systems, CNC machinery, and other automation equipment such as Calypso software. Conduct preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, including hydraulic systems, mechanical components, and calibration of precision measuring instruments. Install new electrical controls or upgrade existing systems using technical knowledge of E & I (Electrical & Instrumentation) standards. Use field service techniques to troubleshoot on-site issues involving sensors, motors, relays, and high voltage components safely. Document all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities thoroughly to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop schematics for new installations or modifications using AutoCAD or similar tools. Support manufacturing operations by providing technical assistance during startup or commissioning of new equipment such as CNC machines or vision inspection systems. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all maintenance activities, especially when working with high voltage or in confined spaces. Experience Proven experience as an industrial electrician or controls technician in manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and industrial maintenance practices. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), sensors, calibration procedures, and vision inspection systems. Familiarity with schematics reading, AutoCAD drawings, and use of precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters. Knowledge of electrical codes related to low voltage and high voltage installations; military experience is a plus for disciplined troubleshooting skills. Experience working with CNC machinery or other automated manufacturing equipment is highly desirable. Ability to perform field service tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards in diverse environments. Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
