KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain food processing and packaging equipment across the facility Program and maintain PLCs across multiple platforms including RS Logix and FactoryTalk View Maintain and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, motor controls, AC/DC drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and power distribution systems Install control and distribution apparatus including switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels Perform preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on batching and continuous process control systems Maintain plant secondary systems including steam, chilled and hot water, pneumatic air, electrical power, refrigeration, HVAC, and emissions control Coordinate and oversee Maintenance Technicians across all shifts during breakdown and planned maintenance events Maintain current documentation of all electrical and controls systems — hardware and software Complete and maintain accurate work records in CMMS (SAP), including notifications, time entry, job procedures, and task frequencies Perform electrical and mechanical inspections safely while equipment is in production Dismantle defective machines, install new or repaired parts, and return equipment to production in the shortest time possible Assist mechanics in troubleshooting and repair of electrical or controls-related failures Repair and maintain facility physical structure and pipe systems including hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, gauges, valves, and pressure regulators Comply with all government codes, GMP, safety, quality, allergen, food defense, and HACCP policies Report food safety concerns, unsafe conditions, and potential contamination to supervision immediately Occasional travel to offsite locations for parts procurement, training, or equipment support
QUALIFICATIONS
Needed:
Formal training in electrical or electronic engineering technology required Minimum skilled-level electrical proficiency for 120V-480V systems Demonstrated PLC troubleshooting and programming skills using laptop across PLC, VFD, and HMI platforms Proficiency with RS Logix and FactoryTalk View software; ability to fully develop and modify ladder logic programs Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and controls documentation including PIDs, single-line drawings, instrument loop drawings, cable routing/termination diagrams, and mechanical layouts Experience with CMMS systems; SAP experience preferred Semi-skilled mechanical, plumbing, and troubleshooting skills for processing and packaging equipment Ability to train and coordinate the work of other maintenance technicians Formal training in mechanical and/or plumbing techniques preferred Prior experience in food manufacturing preferred Physical requirements: ability to climb, stand, and walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs; work in cold, wet, or humid environments with moderate to loud noise levels A bit about us:•Founded nearly 20 years ago and based in Romeoville, IL, with additional facilities in Chicago Heights, IL, we are the largest manufacturer of Take & Bake pizzas and one of the leading pizza manufacturers in North America.
