Job Title:
Controls Technician Job Description The Final Assembly Production Engineering Department is seeking a passionate and highly-motivated Assembly Technician. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical and skilled support to the Assembly Final Assembly Engineering team, including design and drawing review, buyoff support, installation and commissioning, and equipment startup support. Responsibilities Review equipment specifications and design, identify improvements, and conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment functions. Install equipment and verify its safety, quality, and productivity. Investigate modification requirements and implement modifications, conducting trials and adjustments as needed. Lower cost and decrease project time by confirming safety, quality, and productivity of equipment at the vendor, prior to installation. Oversee installation by the vendor and facilitate the kanban process to improve equipment quality and productivity. Confirm quality results using secondary methods such as torque checks and vacuum profiles. Install, set up, and troubleshoot PLC and Allen-Bradley program controllers. Provide training to maintenance members on newly implemented equipment. Share subject matter expertise with local NAMC maintenance and production members. Travel up to 50% at times. Essential Skills Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi)
  • 2 years Comprehensive knowledge of PLCs
  • 2 years Comprehensive knowledge of electrical circuits and industrial controls
  • 2 years 2-year technical degree or completion of a trade school program (EET or Industrial Maintenance Technology) and/or equivalent work experience.
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings. Ability to travel up to 50% at times, including international travel. Ability to work up to 30% overtime when required. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs on occasion. Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch on varying surfaces. Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Good vision and hand-eye coordination for detailed repairs. Ability to work in various environments including hot, cold, or confined spaces. Stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work long shifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience. Knowledge of industrial robot programming and teaching. Knowledge of AGVs/AMRs programming and setup. Knowledge of safety scanners and programming. Knowledge of various industrial controls networking, including EthernetIP, FLNet, and ProfiNet. Automotive manufacturing experience. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00
