Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician. The Electrical Controls Technician / Journeyman / Industrial Electrician is responsible for designing, building, and troubleshooting electrical control systems for industrial and commercial applications. This position requires a self-motivated and technically skilled professional capable of working independently while contributing to high-quality, efficient project execution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and build electrical control circuits for industrial and commercial applications. Troubleshoot and program PLCs with a strong understanding of logic design. Commission, test, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including startup and programming. Perform electrical diagnostics, testing, and system startups with precision and attention to detail. Create and interpret electrical schematics using AutoCAD or similar drawing software. Manage projects from concept through completion, including coordination, design, scheduling, and follow-through. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other trades to ensure successful project outcomes. May oversee apprentices.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Strong technical and analytical skills with proven problem-solving ability. Experience in control systems design, PLC logic, and VFD systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design/drawing software
PREFFFERED BUT NOT REQUIRED.
Demonstrated project management and communication skills. Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation habits.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience with industrial automation systems, process controls, and system integration. Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards for industrial installations.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED EDUCATION
Technical or trade school certification in electrical or control systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Strong understanding of electrical theory, controls, and automation. Excellent troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Standing, bending, and climbing may be required for extended periods. Manual dexterity to handle electrical tools and components.
LICENSING
Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License required. Additional state licenses are a plus. OTHER Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
