Controls Technician, Days 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars 2200 Monumental Rd, Baltimore, MD 21227 Sazerac Company 204 reviews The Controls Technician plays a critical role in supporting plant operations by maintaining and improving electrical and control systems across the facility. This hands-on position works with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and production equipment to help maximize uptime, product quality, and operational efficiency. The role also provides leadership and technical guidance to maintenance technicians while supporting continuous improvement and safety initiatives. This is a fully onsite position working Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, with overtime as needed.
What You'll Do:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant electrical and control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and manufacturing equipment Support the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and automation systems to improve plant performance and reduce downtime Lead and coach maintenance technicians on controls-related troubleshooting, safety practices, and preventative maintenance procedures Collaborate across departments to improve equipment reliability, product quality, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives
Required:
Associate's degree in electrical field or equivalent combination of experience 3+ years of hands-on electrical, PLC programming, and equipment troubleshooting experience Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and ladder logic
Preferred:
Experience in the alcohol beverage, food & beverage, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry Rockwell Automation controls training or related automation certifications Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds without assistance
