Controls Technician Reports to:
Engineering Manager Job Summary :
We are seeking a talented and experienced Controls Technician to join our team at Egan Food Technologies. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize control systems for advanced equipment and machinery. Your expertise in utilizing technologies from Allen Bradley, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, and other industry leaders will enable us to deliver high-quality solutions to our clients. Duties/Responsibilities Design, program, and troubleshoot control systems for all new Egan equipment. Configure and troubleshoot control systems and hardware components, including PLCs, HMIs, I/O modules, servo drives, and variable frequency drives (VFDs). Design, test, and debug programs to optimize machine performance and functionality. Collaborate with mechanical engineering team to integrate control systems with production machinery seamlessly. Provide customer support for existing equipment in the field as needed. Travel to customer locations for commissioning/servicing of Egan equipment as needed Stay updated on advancements in control systems and emerging technologies to ensure cutting-edge solutions for all future Egan equipment. Learn Egan product lines and be able to communicate with customers and colleagues regarding the equipment and the processes involved with each product line. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing control systems for industrial machinery in an OEM environment. Proficiency with Rockwell Automation platforms (Allen-Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000) Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, such as Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, and Modbus. Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA) and best practices in automation. Hands-on experience with motion control systems, robotics, and vision systems is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach. Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with SCADA systems and integration with Allen Bradley control systems. Knowledge of SQL or database integration for machine data logging and reporting.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
