AM Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Controls / Electrical Technician to support and maintain high-speed manufacturing equipment for our client in Durham, NC. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing electrical systems, controls, and production equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, control circuits, and production equipment Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment Install, maintain, and modify electrical control systems and components Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation Diagnose issues using HMI displays and system data to determine corrective actions Support installation, startup, and validation of new or modified equipment Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficiency Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to resolve issues Maintain accurate records for maintenance activities and safety compliance Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and procedures Assist with equipment changeovers and production support as needed
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical control systems and power distribution Experience with PLCs and industrial controls (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Modicon) Knowledge of motors, VFDs, servos, hydraulics, and pneumatics Familiarity with NFPA 70E, NEC, and electrical safety standards Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Manufacturing environment with moving machinery and varying conditions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces Ability to climb ladders, stand, and perform physical tasks as required What Our Client is
