Job Description

The Controls Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical control systems and panels in accordance with schematics, prints, and company standards. This role progresses from foundational electrical tasks to advanced controls troubleshooting and system verification, supporting safe, reliable, and high-quality equipment builds. Key Responsibilities Read and follow written instructions, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams Identify electrical components, parts, and materials Perform wire preparation, labeling, and routing Assemble and wire electrical boxes and control panels per schematics and prints Terminate wires and verify connections against electrical drawings Support electrical testing and system verification activities Assist with troubleshooting wiring and control system issues Test and verify basic sensors, proximity switches, and photo eyes as trained Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area Qualifications Required Basic literacy and numeracy skills Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures Mechanical and electrical aptitude Strong attention to detail and quality Willingness to learn and develop advanced controls skills Preferred Exposure to electrical wiring, control panels, or manufacturing environments Ability to read or learn to interpret electrical schematics Technical schooling, vocational training, or related experience Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, and work with hands for extended periods Ability to lift materials consistent with a manufacturing environment Ability to work safely in a shop or production setting Growth & Development This position offers a clear path for skill advancement. As experience is gained, the Controls Technician may expand into advanced panel wiring, electrical testing, sensor verification, and troubleshooting of control systems, with training and mentorship provided.
