Job Description
The Performance Group is partnering with a client in the Lebanon, Pa. area to help fulfill their hiring needs. Controls and Electronic Technician 2nd shift Monday-Friday 2:30pm-12:30am. weekends as needed $35-$39 DOE The Electronics/Controls Technician works with and assists other technicians with the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. As competence is gained, increased accountability of work assignments and degree of difficulty follows. Overall, this team member will be knowledgeable of all maintenance department activities that include the use of electrical motors, control systems, and instruments. Primary job duties and responsibilities include: Performs all work in conformance with the safe work practices of LOTO. Communicate appropriately and effectively with operators, mechanics, other electricians, engineers and management as needed. Work with "CMMS" Computerized maintenance management system software. Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Ability to connect to a PLC and read basic ladder logic and do basic PLC programming. Backup and manage machine software. Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and read electrical schematics/blueprints. Perform PMs on equipment, get hand dirty Perform necessary job work orders. Complete paperwork/computer work as needed. Document work daily or as needed, which may result in changes to parameters, circuits, components, configuration, or orientation of an electrical/electronic device for future reference by self and others. Interpersonal Skills Reliable, comes to work every day and arrives to work on time Comes prepared to contribute Works to the best of their ability Accepts constructive feedback Team player Work well in a team and independently Work well under pressure Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job include: Must have 3-5 years minimum experience in food industry, with knowledge of operating systems, programming basics, hands on in assisting Maintenance Team Must live within a 30-minute commute of Lebanon High school degree or GED Technical school, degree or certificate program (Preferred) Ability to test, maintain, calibrate, program and/or troubleshoot (with the appropriate test equipment) instrumentation and controls system components and peripheral devices utilizing schematics, vendor manuals and procedures Ability to perform troubleshooting and basic programming on a wide variety of PLC/HMI Platforms (Allen-Bradley, Redlion, Unitronics, Omron PLCs preferred) Knowledge of VFD/Servo setup and basic operations Strong computer background including PC hardware, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows Ability to read, understand and follow instructions, and schematics, utilize PC and PLC for diagnostics and troubleshooting Have experience with AC/DC voltages ranging from 5 to 480 volts Have experience with electrical wiring following the National Electric Code Experience with Instrumentation, motor, and process controls (Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems) Working Conditions Exposure to a wet, humid plant environment and undergoes temperature changes, from hot to cold. Fast-paced environment working around heavy meat processing equipment. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements Must be able to perform extensive walking and standing throughout the shift daily. Ability to identify and distinguish colors Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, standing, climbing, crouching, stooping, and kneeling. Ability to reach with hands and arms and use sense of smell to help diagnose and repair equipment/machinery. Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment, up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Moderate hand/wrist flexion and gripping pressure. AFINDE
