Valve Technician

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and mechanically inclined Valve Technician to perform inspection, repair, testing, and assembly of industrial valves and related equipment. This role supports customers in industries such as oil & gas, chemical, power generation, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate has hands‑on mechanical experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a shop environment. Key Responsibilities Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble a wide range of industrial valves, including: Control valves Pressure relief valves Gate, globe, ball, and check valves Perform valve testing, calibration, and certification according to industry standards Document inspection findings, repair steps, and test results accurately Clean, sandblast, and prepare valve components as needed Operate hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and test benches safely Read and interpret technical manuals, repair procedures, and customer specifications Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Assist with field service work as needed (if applicable) Follow all safety policies, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout procedures Qualifications Previous experience as a valve technician, industrial mechanic, or similar mechanical role Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment Ability to read and interpret technical documents and repair instructions Familiarity with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Joliet, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
