This position will be a rotating shift (2-3 weeks on day shift, 1 week on night shift) or permanent night shift. Job Overview As a Controls Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a diverse range of manufacturing equipment. Your technical skills will be essential in installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, automation, and robotics. Collaborating with Maintenance Technicians, you will work to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime. You will be the first responder to machine breakdowns, ensuring the smooth continuation of production. Job Duties and Responsibilities Ensure continuous operation of production line equipment by promptly addressing downtime events and production requests to maximize uptime. Diagnose equipment failures, determine the root cause, and communicate actions taken to the team. Troubleshoot automation equipment, PLCs, robots, motion controls, and vision systems. Maintain PLCs and HMI software to optimize the production process and ensure high-quality production. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for control system issues. Perform Preventative Maintenance on all automated manufacturing equipment. Perform general maintenance duties as needed and assigned. Perform equipment repairs and similar duties without oversight or direction. Utilize CMMS to complete work orders under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. Recommend countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns. Qualifications and Skills Associate Degree in a technical discipline and 2 years of experience in automation/PLC controls, mechanical, and electronic systems, OR High school diploma/GED and 4 years of technical experience in automation/PLC controls, mechanical, and electronic systems. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with automation and electromechanical systems. Proficiency in Siemens PLC Language, Beckhoff PLCs, Fanuc Robots, HMI systems (e.g., WinCC /TIA Portal, or SIMATIC). Proficient with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as required by the job demands. Availability to work any shift as needed for operational coverage.
