This role focuses on quickly diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize production downtime, with a heavy emphasis on robotics troubleshooting, rehoming, and resolving electrical faults. Responsibilities Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveyors, Fanuc robots, and PLC-controlled systems. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on conveyors, carriers, lift assists, and automated tooling. Replace or repair motors, bearings, belts, couplings, and mechanical fixtures as needed. Perform equipment alignments and calibrations to maintain optimal performance. Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic to support troubleshooting. Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems. Identify and replace fuses, relays, sensors, solenoids, and wiring to restore equipment functionality. Safely isolate equipment using Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before performing maintenance. Navigate HMI panels for basic troubleshooting, resets, and fault acknowledgment. Interpret fault codes and alarms to determine root causes of equipment issues. Work with PLC-controlled equipment to support production, using familiarity with PLCs for troubleshooting (no programming required). Support robotic cells, including Fanuc and other OEM robots, with focus on rehoming, touching up points, and resolving electrical faults. Apply robotic safety protocols, use teach pendants, and execute reset sequences as required. Support robot-based bonding, dispensing, or welding applications during production and maintenance activities. Execute and document preventive maintenance (PM) routines according to schedules and standards. Recognize early signs of equipment wear or failure and recommend appropriate interventions. Use predictive maintenance tools, such as vibration monitoring and thermal scans when applicable. Use CMMS tools (such as OPTIMAP, POMS, or similar systems) to log work orders, update maintenance activities, and track part usage. Maintain accurate maintenance documentation for audits, traceability, and continuous improvement. Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, torque wrenches, and related equipment safely and effectively. Perform basic facility maintenance tasks, including work on dock doors, compressed air systems, and equipment anchoring. Communicate clearly with team leads, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding equipment status, risks, and recommended actions. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and work to minimize production downtime across assigned shifts. Support production schedules that mirror automotive manufacturing demands, including occasional schedule flexibility and weekend work.
