Full-Time Position Summary A leading building automation and HVAC solutions company is seeking an experienced BAS Controls Technician to join its growing team. This position is responsible for the installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, programming, and servicing of Direct Digital Control (DDC) Building Automation Systems (BAS). The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of HVAC controls, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with customers and project teams. Responsibilities Install, commission, troubleshoot, and service DDC Building Automation Systems. Diagnose and repair complex control system issues involving HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, and electronic controls. Program, modify, and optimize control sequences and system algorithms. Download and configure controller software and maintain system databases. Develop and modify graphical user interfaces (GUI) for building automation systems. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, control drawings, and project documentation. Perform calibration, testing, and preventative maintenance on building automation equipment. Coordinate installation schedules and communicate project progress with customers, contractors, and project managers. Monitor labor and material usage to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget. Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and vendors during project execution. Identify field changes, assist with change order estimates, and document additional work performed. Conduct customer training on completed BAS installations. Complete project documentation, commissioning reports, and closeout paperwork. Provide technical support to customers and internal team members. Follow all company safety policies and industry regulations. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, trade school certification, or military technical training. Associate degree in electronics, HVAC, mechanical systems, computer technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Building Automation Systems or HVAC controls. Experience with BACnet and/or LonWorks control systems. Experience with Niagara 4 (Tridium) preferred. Familiarity with Distech Controls, Siemens Talon, or similar BAS platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and DDC controls. Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and control schematics. Basic understanding of IP networking. Experience using hand and power tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to work overtime or occasional weekends as needed. Ability to travel occasionally to customer job sites. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
