On-Demand Project Support About Us AAAPlus Automation is a growing industrial automation and machine vision systems integrator supporting manufacturing, water/wastewater, data center, energy, and industrial customers across the United States. We are looking for a hands-on Controls & Machine Vision Field Technician/engineer who enjoys commissioning, troubleshooting equipment in the field, working directly with customers, and solving real-world automation challenges. This role focuses on commissioning, startup, and support of AI-driven machine vision systems, industrial cameras, PLCs, networking equipment, and related automation systems. What You'll Do Commission and support industrial machine vision camera systems at customer sites Configure cameras, lenses, lighting, and network settings Verify camera field of view, image quality, focus, and positioning Perform Level 2 troubleshooting of machine vision systems Identify and resolve common issues such as: Camera out of position Dirty or obstructed lenses Reflection, glare, or lighting issues Product or process changes affecting image quality Network communication failures Ethernet connectivity issues Power supply problems Coordinate with remote engineering teams for advanced troubleshooting Perform basic PLC and HMI troubleshooting Verify I/O signals and network communications Assist with startup and commissioning of industrial automation equipment Support VFD commissioning and field service activities as opportunities arise Document findings and provide professional service reports Interface directly with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and IT personnel Required Qualifications 5+ years of industrial controls, automation, machine vision, maintenance , or field service experience Basic understanding of Ethernet networking Ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment independently Comfortable using laptops and software tools in the field Strong communication and customer-facing skills Ability to travel to customer sites as needed Valid driver's license and clean driving record Preferred Qualifications Experience with industrial cameras and machine vision systems PLC experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff, or similar)
HMI/SCADA
experience Industrial networking experience Experience with VFDs and motor control systems Familiarity with industrial electrical systems Knowledge of manufacturing, steel, water/wastewater, food & beverage, or industrial facilities Military technical background is a plus Field service experience is highly desirable What Success Looks Like You can arrive at a site, evaluate the machine vision system, determine whether the issue is camera-related, lighting-related, process-related, networking-related, or mechanical in nature, and either resolve the issue or clearly identify the root cause for escalation. You are comfortable working independently while coordinating remotely with engineering teams when needed.
