Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation & Controls Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and efficiency of all equipment and machinery used in our production processes. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong technical abilities and a commitment to maintaining high standards of performance. We're specifically looking for someone comfortable with troubleshooting electrical equipment, identifying and replacing failed electrical components, and identifying root cause of electrical failure. Day Shift:
Monday - Thursday 5:00 AM - 3:45 PM shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment. Diagnose electrical, controls, and automation failures. Configure and troubleshoot servo motors and motion control systems.
Calibrate process instrumentation including:
Pressure sensors, Temperature sensors, Load cells, Rulers, Timers, and other equipment Troubleshoot analog and digital I/O circuits. Maintain safety PLCs and machine safety systems. Document electrical and controls modifications. Maintain electrical schematics and control documentation. Perform routine maintenance tasks on a variety of equipment and machinery, including troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing parts as necessary. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failure or downtime. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, prioritizing tasks to minimize disruption to production schedules. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings through equipment optimization and efficiency enhancements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus. Proven experience as an equipment maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment and machinery. Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, and PLC systems is desirable. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed. Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving complex automation challenges while remaining hands-on with industrial equipment. Approximately 50% of the role focuses on instrumentation, controls, and automation , with the remaining 50% supporting general industrial maintenance . The technician will act as the maintenance team's controls expert while contributing to overall equipment reliability and uptime.
