Woodworking Instructor LA Woodshop Los Angeles, CA Job Details Part-time | Contract $28 - $35 an hour 13 hours ago Benefits Paid training Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Student supervision Woodworking machines Teaching woodworking Woodworking Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Instructor to teach Intermediate and Advanced-level classes, including Furniture-making, Cabinetry, project-based Independent Study and 1-on-1 private lessons covering a variety of topics. Schedule will vary, but these classes will usually be in the evenings on weeknights, 6pm-10pm. Our goal for our instructors is to help students build confidence, develop practical skills, and appreciate the beauty of woodworking in a safe, structured environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to share your knowledge while nurturing a love for craftsmanship and design. Responsibilities Lead engaging, safe, and interactive woodworking classes for adults Manage classroom activities to ensure a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and collaboration Provide individualized guidance and support to students during projects to enhance their technical skills Maintain a safe workspace by enforcing safety protocols and proper tool handling procedures Accurately set up tools/machines to accomplish specific tasks within a structured curriculum Skills Strong background in woodworking techniques, tools, and safety standards across multiple woodworking disciplines Professional experience in a woodshop or woodworking school is a plus Classroom management skills to foster respectful and productive learning environments Familiarity with classroom experience in educational or community settings
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
