Established in 2009 and located just 30 minutes north of Denver in Longmont, Colorado, Perkins Precision Developments (PPD) is an innovative company with deep expertise in optical manufacturing. Our team brings together more than 100 years of combined experience in the photonics industry. We specialize in custom laser optics such as wedged windows, high energy laser mirrors, epoxy-free high LDT polarizing beam splitter cubes, spherical lenses, right-angle turning prisms and thin film plate polarizers for demanding applications in Directed Energy, Space-qualified Satellite Systems, Quantum Research and Industrial Materials Processing. PPD's in-house fabrication, super-polishing, IBS coating, and precision assembly capabilities allow us to deliver cutting-edge, high-performance solutions tailored to our customers' exact specifications.
COATING TECHNICIAN
The Coating Technician will be responsible for keeping optical components moving from cleaning operations to coating chamber operations. They will also perform cleaning and inspection of substrates and coated components.
Main responsibilities:
Cleans, inspects and measures more advanced/complex substrates to ensure quality. Packages optical components Sets up tooling Loads parts into chambers Starts coating runs May perform tooling fit checks/reviews Able to read and comprehend prints for determining specs on surface quality, substrate dimensions, arrow marking for side one and side two, packaging requirements May begin training and/or perform second check chamber start Understanding of non-conforming material and how to scrap material Understanding of substrate material Inspection of normal product Trained on ISO / mil / final inspection Raising tech issues with tooling, specs, process sheets, etc Understanding defect types Other tasks as assigned Perkins Precision Developments must comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) issued by the US Dept of State, Directorate of Defense Controls.
