Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Head Maker / Studio Assistant to join our team. As our head maker, you will manage the fabrication of summer STEM kits and projects, as well as manage our production resources and inventory, lead other Makers / Studio Assistants and provide administrative support.

Part Time or Full Time Summer Role (30-40 hours per week)

$20-$25/hour

Starting downtown at Emerson College in June, possibly moving to Newton in

NORY Programs Overview:
Summer Camps:
In 2023, over 3000 campers participated in NORY summer camps in NYC. This opportunity does not take place in a school; you will be working at the NORY Office located near Penn Station & Times Square.
Qualities We're Seeking:
Energetic, personable, and empathetic Passionate about early childhood education Hardworking, very organized, and efficient at multitasking Strong problem-solving skills with solid basic mathematics skills Clear written and verbal communication skills Strong memory and attention to detail Motivated to problem solve, develop new systems, and grow with the position Artistic creativity is a plus
Responsibilities Include:
Prepare enrichment program materials (arts & crafts, woodworking and engineering materials) Manage maker production and reduce operational costs Proactively plan to anticipate company needs, including ordering, scheduling, and implementing protocols Maintain a clean and positive workspace while managing office space effectively
Requirements:
Makerspace, shop, or STEM experience Comfortable operating power tools (we'll provide training if needed) Ability to stand, bend over, walk, etc., for long periods of time Ability to lift 20+ lbs Organized, hard worker.
