Job Description:
IDEA Public Charter School is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Carpentry Teacher to teach two sections of Carpentry courses within the school's Career & Technical Education (CTE) program. The ideal candidate has experience in carpentry, construction, or a related trade and is passionate about introducing students to practical skills, craftsmanship, workplace safety, and career opportunities within the skilled trades. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and providing real-world, project-based learning experiences that help students build technical skills, confidence, and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Teach two sections of Carpentry courses Provide hands-on instruction in carpentry techniques, tool usage, construction concepts, and workplace safety Develop engaging, project-based learning experiences for students Maintain a safe, organized, and professional classroom/workshop environment Support students in developing teamwork, problem-solving, and employability skills Incorporate real-world applications and career exploration into instruction Build positive relationships with students and foster an engaging classroom culture
