Job Description

Job Summary Our electric-wire braiders play a vital role in enhancing the durability, performance, and aesthetics of MNStar wire harness products to meet and exceed our customers' needs, specifications, and expectations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Operates Braiding Machines Sets up, operates, and adjusts braiding machines to apply braided sheathing to wire harnesses Loads metal wire onto braiding machines according to job specifications Monitors machine performance to ensure consistent and accurate braiding 2. Reads and Interprets Work Orders Reviews blueprints, schematics, and work orders to understand customer specifications Verifies material requirements, dimensions, and braiding patterns for each job 3. Quality Controls Inspects harnesses during and after braiding process to ensure required standards are met Identifies and addresses defects, such as uneven braiding or missed coverage Adjusts machines as necessary to maintain product quality 4. Maintenance of Equipment Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of braiding machines to ensure optimal performance Reports mechanical issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team for timely repairs Replaces worn or broken parts, such as spools or tensioning components, as needed 5. Materials Handling Ensures appropriate materials (e.g., wire, thread, or other sheathing materials) are available for each job Organizes and stores spools, tools, and other supplies in a clean and accessible manner 6. Compliance with Safety Standards Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries while operating braiding equipment Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, such as gloves or safety glasses Maintains a clean and hazard-free work area 7. Documentation and Record Keeping Records production data, such as quantities produced, machine settings, and material usage Completes job sheets and quality checklists for each work order 8. Collaboration with Production Teams Communicates with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines Coordinates with quality control and engineering teams to address any design or production issues 9. Troubleshooting Diagnoses and resolves common machine or process issues, such as tension problems or thread breakage Escalates complex issues to supervisors or maintenance staff as necessary 10. Continuous Improvement Suggests improvements for braiding processes, machine setup, and/or materials handling to enhance efficiency and product quality Stays updated on new techniques or tools that could improve braiding operations
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Must be a motivated learner and humble leader who effectively coaches and develops others
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1
year of braiding experience; or 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly sits & stands Requires close and distant vision

Typical manufacturing plant and business office environment
