Glazier (Apprentice)

Overview We are seeking a skilled Glazier to join our team. Apprentice Glazers at MWD will be required to perform all tasks related to the field labor and the care and maintenance of our tools and equipment as you progress within the apprentice program. You are obligated to meet the training and documentation requirements contained within the Apprenticeship Program here at MWD, in addition to performing your duties associated with the field labor. MWD:

Lifting, loading, and hauling of; glass, aluminum extrusions, assembled windows and many other materials required. Staging of tools, equipment, and materials required on job sites or in the shop. Preparation of rough openings for installation of fenestration systems. Preparation of fenestration systems prior to installation. Demolition of existing building materials in or adjacent to rough openings. Installation of frames, glass, hardware, & pre-assembled fenestration systems into rough openings.

Operating of various equipment required:

ariel lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, trucks and trailers, etc. (DOT health card required, not CDL) Cutting and assembling of aluminum extrusions based on plans provided to you. Read and comprehend various building plans and specifications. Qualifications Proven experience in glass installation or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with construction estimating practices is a plus. Ability to work with hand tools efficiently and safely. Experience with heavy lifting is essential for handling large glass panels.
