Painted Light Glass Studio Location:
Omaha, Nebraska (Hot Shops Art Center)
Hours:
Part-time, up to 24 hours per week (regular weekly schedule preferred)
Pay:
$15•20 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for advancement and wage increases as skills and responsibilities grow. Painted Light Glass Studio is looking for a dependable, trustworthy, creative, and detail-oriented Studio Assistant to help support a busy stained glass business. This is a hands-on position in a working art studio where no two days are exactly the same. As a small business, I am looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes initiative, and is comfortable working closely as part of a small team. Reliability, a positive attitude, and good communication are essential.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing materials and supplies for stained glass workshops Helping with workshop setup and cleanup Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe studio environment General studio cleaning and organization Retail sales assistance during studio hours Creating and assembling the studio's line of stained glass suncatchers Organizing materials, tools, and inventory Packaging and preparing finished work for customers General studio support and administrative tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and stay organized Comfortable interacting with customers Dependable and punctual Interest in art, craftsmanship, or creative work
Physical Requirements:
This is an active, hands-on position with little to no sitting during most shifts. Ability to stand and move around the studio for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Comfortable bending, reaching, organizing materials, and performing repetitive hand tasks. Ability to safely handle glass, tools, and workshop materials.
Bonus Qualifications:
Previous stained glass experience Experience soldering, foiling, leading, or glass cutting Ability to assist with stained glass repairs and commission work
