Job Title:
Welting/Sole Stitching ______________________________________
Welting Job Summary:
Olathe boot factory is a recognized leader in high-quality boot making and is hiring. We are seeking a Welt Stitcher to support our production operations by securing the welt material to the insoles.
Sole Stitching Job Summary:
We are seeking a Sole Stitcher to support our Finishing Department by securing the outsole to the welt with a continuous stitch around the perimeter of the boot. ________________________________________
Welting Key Responsibilities:
Grab boot, begin peeling back-channel welt groove with spatula to attach welt. Firmly hold boot and attach welt to the side using welt machine. When finished fold down welt till straight and flat.
Sole Stitching Key Responsibilities:
Fold and straighten welt to ensure clean alignment Operate sole stitch machine to sew around the circumference of the boot Rotate and guide the boot through the machine for consistent stitching
Key Responsibilities:
Verify the work order and ensure all panel sizes match before beginning. Align back panel, side seam, and front panel accurately. Stitch panels together in a straight line completing both sides. Clips excess threads and inspect completed work for quality and accuracy. Monitor alignment and stitching regularly to meet production standards. Sew ear pulls onto boot tops using industrial sewing machines or hand tools.
Required Qualifications:
Enjoy creating quality products using your hands. High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Prior experience not necessary; master craftsman preferred. Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools. Strong attention to detail. Ability to follow verbal and written instruction. Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods Use of hands, tools, or equipment as required Repetitive motion required and organizing tasks. ________________________________________
Work Environment:
This is an on-site position at our facility Work may involve exposure to leather materials, adhesives, and mechanical equipment Noise level and temperature may vary depending on department ________________________________________
Schedule:
Monday - Friday weekends as needed. 40 hours a week plus overtime as needed. Shift hours may vary between 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM depending on department assignment. ________________________________________
