Job Description

About the role Creative Hands Studio is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Pottery Camp Instructor to lead our 5-day full-week pottery camp this summer June 15 to August 30. You'll introduce young artists to the wonderful world of clay — from hand-building basics to wheel throwing — all within our fully equipped pottery studio in Bothell. Each week features a unique theme and project set, giving returning campers a fresh experience every time. What you'll do Plan and lead daily pottery projects tied to each week's unique theme, progressing campers through building, decorating, and finishing techniques. Teach foundational clay techniques including hand-building (pinch, coil, slab) and introduce wheel throwing at age-appropriate levels. Guide campers through surface decoration, glazing, and finishing — explaining how pieces will be fired in the kiln. Manage clay prep, tool setup, and studio cleanup each day — maintaining a safe and well-organized workspace. Monitor drying and greenware stages throughout the week to ensure pieces are kiln-ready by Friday. Create a warm, encouraging studio culture where campers feel proud of their work and confident to experiment with clay. Communicate with parents and coordinate with studio staff for smooth daily operations and camper pick-up. What we're looking for
