Birmingham, Alabama Job Description This role focuses on assembling, building, and repairing motors and related components in a motor and coil manufacturing shop. You will use hand and power tools to assemble motors, wind coils, perform wiring, and work with mechanical parts such as rotors, shafts, and bearings. The position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical assembly experience who enjoys hands-on work and wants to deepen their skills in motor repair and electronic assembly. Responsibilities Assemble and build motors and motor components in a motor and coil shop environment. Wind coils and pull copper through motors according to specifications and work instructions. Use hand and power tools to assemble, install, and secure motor parts and related components. Interpret and work from blueprints and assembly drawings to complete mechanical and electrical builds. Perform mechanical assembly on motors, motor parts, and related equipment. Carry out wiring tasks for motors, electrical boards, and electronic assemblies. Perform oil changes, engine repairs, filter changes, rotor changes, and related maintenance tasks. Work with rotors, shafts, and bearings to assemble, repair, and adjust motor components. Support motor repair activities, including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of motors and engines. Assist with the assembly and wiring of manufacturing or automotive parts as needed. Follow safety procedures and quality standards while working with tools, equipment, and electrical components. Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly handle tools, parts, and materials. Essential Skills 2-5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly on motors or motor parts. 2-5+ years of experience working with hand tools and power tools in an assembly or repair environment. 2-5+ years of experience wiring and building manufacturing or automotive parts. 2-5+ years of experience with electronic assembly, motor repair, rotors, shafts, and engine repair or engine changes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical assembly tasks. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Experience installing and wiring components in motors or electrical assemblies. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2-5+ years of experience working with assembly on motors and electrical boards. 2-5+ years of experience performing oil, engine, filter, and rotor changes and repairs. 2-5+ years of experience working with bearings and shafts. Background in motor and engine repair, including disassembly and reassembly. Experience in a manufacturing, motor shop, automotive, or similar mechanical environment. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production setting. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00- $22.00/hr.
