Job Title:
Wire Harness Assembler Monday - Friday $19-$24/hr Located in the Jetplex area Huntsville,AL Job Description This role focuses on building, assembling, and testing wire harnesses and cable assemblies used in aerospace applications. You will work from detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering blueprints to produce high‑quality harnesses that meet strict aerospace standards. The position suits someone who enjoys precision work, maintains strong attention to detail, and can balance independent tasks with close collaboration in a fast‑paced production environment. Responsibilities Assemble wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering blueprints. Perform wire crimping, stripping, and light soldering on cables and connectors as required. Install heat shrink, labels, boots, adapters, and other protective materials on wiring assemblies. Route and secure wiring in accordance with aerospace standards, work instructions, and quality guidelines. Follow detailed work orders and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date production documentation for each build. Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of harnesses to ensure they meet quality and workmanship standards. Perform electrical testing and continuity checks on completed harnesses and cable assemblies. Manage, track, and organize inventory of wiring components, tools, connectors, and related materials. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to all safety procedures and protocols. Collaborate with team members, engineers, and other departments to resolve issues and ensure on‑time delivery. Work independently when needed, effectively prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines and high‑demand production schedules. Essential Skills Previous experience in wire harness assembly, cable assembly, or electronic assembly in a production environment. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering blueprints, and work instructions. Proficiency with hand tools such as crimp tools, wire strippers, and basic hand tools used in harness assembly. Experience performing light soldering on wires and connectors. Familiarity with installing and using heat shrink, labels, boots, adapters, and protective materials on wiring. Understanding of aerospace‑grade cable routing practices and quality standards. Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive, precision‑focused tasks accurately. Capability to perform visual and mechanical inspections and support quality assurance activities. Ability to conduct basic electrical testing and continuity checks on circuits and harnesses. Comfort working both independently and as part of a team, especially under tight timelines. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and willingness to work overtime when needed. Basic math skills to support measurements, layout, and documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with electronic assembly and electromechanical assembly in aerospace or related industries. Background working with avionics systems or aerospace electronics. Familiarity with industry standards such as J‑STD and IPC‑610. Experience reading and following detailed work instructions and production documentation. Exposure to bench technician work, including testing circuits and supporting electronics troubleshooting. Comfort working with quality assurance processes and documentation in a regulated environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a clean, organized production setting focused on aerospace manufacturing. Daily tasks involve bench‑level assembly using hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, soldering equipment, and test instruments for continuity and circuit checks. The role follows structured work orders, schematics, and blueprints, with clear work instructions and documented processes. You will collaborate closely with other assemblers and technical staff while also handling independent assignments. The schedule may require overtime during periods of high demand, and safety procedures and cleanliness standards are strictly followed throughout the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
