Job Description

The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained "A Tradition of Excellence", serving as a trusted source for our unwavering commitment to supporting all branches of the Department of Defense and our global allies. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. SCOPE Electrical Assembler II will be responsible for the manufacturing of Build-to-Print Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) designed for integration into military mechanical/electromechanical equipment. Primary role to include assembling, self-inspecting, testing, and modification of sub-systems, sub-units, assemblies, electronic and electromechanical components to include molding, adhesives, harnesses, and cables. This role must be interested in technical growth with a desire in being part of a culture where teamwork, collaboration, and continuous development drive success.
He / She
must be able to function in a process-centric environment, in which we encourage diversity, inclusion, intellectual curiosity and having a ravenous drive to do the impossible. This position requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Setup and operate various types of equipment, tools and fixtures/shop aids to fabricate and assemble electrical assemblies (such as calibrated Hand Tools, Torque Wrenches, Crimping Tools, Calipers, and Scales)
  • Setup and perform manual and computer-controlled operations for assembly and testing (as required)
  • Understand and use planning instructions and assembly drawings
  • Follow all policies and procedures to protect product from Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) damage
  • Hi-REL soldering certification, specifications and procedures
  • Learn, participate, and apply various trainings into daily work
  • Verify that all components, consumables, equipment and calibration are within tolerance/expiration before using
  • Use Lean and 6S methodologies to improve and maintain an efficient work area
  • Perform other related duties as may be required
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have 3-5 years' experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to read blueprints and/or schematics
  • IPC-610: The Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies, IPC-620: Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies certifications or equivalent required
  • J-STD-001
    Soldered Electrical & Electronic Assemblies required for Solder role
  • Ability to perform moderate, demanding, physical and repetitious work
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem, with thinking in such a way as to produce a new idea and concepts
  • Detailed-oriented and self-motivation skills
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs.

  • Exposed to a combination of potential odors from chemicals and/or processes
