Job Title:
Solderer Assembler Job Description The Solderer Assembler is responsible for assembling electronic products to defined specifications, using both hand tools and production machinery. This role involves performing soldering operations, interpreting drawings and assembly instructions, inspecting work for defects, and preparing parts for subsequent processes such as painting, kitting, and shipping. The position requires careful attention to detail, adherence to quality and safety standards, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a production team. Responsibilities Assemble electronic products in accordance with prescribed specifications, quality standards, and written or verbal assembly instructions. Perform soldering operations, including hand soldering and surface mount work, to produce reliable and consistent electronic assemblies. Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings to ensure accurate assembly of components. Operate production machines to produce parts in line with established standards, guidelines, and productivity expectations. Use hand tools properly and safely to complete assembly, soldering, and related tasks. Inspect parts and assemblies for workmanship defects or flaws and report any issues immediately to management. Detect and report machine or tool malfunctions to ensure timely maintenance and minimal downtime. Prepare parts for painting and shipping, including gluing, taping, cleaning, and other pre-finishing activities. Document production activities as requested, maintaining accurate records of work performed and quantities completed. Perform related tasks such as counting, packaging, labeling, or bagging produced parts or raw materials in preparation for kitting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with workplace safety practices. Collaborate effectively with team members while also being able to work independently to meet production goals. Essential Skills At least 6 months to 1 year of recent soldering experience. Recent electronic assembly (EM assembly) experience within the past 1 to 2 years. Ability to perform hand soldering and work with surface mount components. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings. Ability to read and follow verbal and written assembly instructions. Competence in operating production machines in a manufacturing environment. Proper and safe use of hand tools for assembly and soldering tasks. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify workmanship defects and flaws. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior training in soldering, with a minimum of 6 months experience preferred. Familiarity with electronic assembly practices and standards such as IPC-610. Experience reading and working from blueprints and schematics. Comfort working in a dynamic, evolving production environment. Why Work Here? Each assembler has an individual workstation equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to perform daily tasks. The dress code is manufacturing casual, including closed-toe shoes, pants, and t-shirts, with jackets permitted. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, first shift, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and continuous improvement as the production floor evolves. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
