- 25/hr Job Description The Solderer Assembler is responsible for assembling electronic products in accordance with established specifications, quality standards, and production guidelines.
This role involves hand soldering, electronic assembly, use of production machinery and hand tools, and careful inspection of workmanship to ensure high-quality finished parts. Responsibilities Assemble electronic products in accordance with prescribed specifications, drawings, and assembly instructions, following both verbal and written directions. Perform soldering and electronic assembly tasks, including hand soldering and surface mount work, to meet quality and production standards. Operate production machines to produce parts in line with established company standards and guidelines. Use hand tools properly and safely to support assembly, soldering, and related production activities. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly documentation to ensure accurate and efficient assembly of components and products. Inspect parts and assemblies to identify workmanship defects or flaws and report any issues immediately to management. Detect and report any machine or tool malfunctions to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment. Prepare parts for painting and/or shipping by gluing, taping, cleaning, and performing other required preparation tasks. Document production activities as requested, ensuring accurate records of work performed and materials used. Support related tasks such as counting, packaging, labeling, or bagging produced parts or raw materials in preparation for kitting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace safety and housekeeping standards. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet production goals and quality expectations. Essential Skills At least 6 months to 1 year of hands-on soldering experience. Recent electronic assembly (EM assembly) experience within the past 1 to 2 years. Ability to perform hand soldering and surface mount soldering in a production environment. Experience in electronic assembly, including working with small components and assemblies. Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions. Ability to operate production machines in accordance with established standards and guidelines. Proficient use of hand tools required for soldering and assembly work. Ability to recognize workmanship defects or flaws and take appropriate action by reporting issues promptly. Strong verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions and document work accurately. Ability to work both individually and within a team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with IPC-610 or similar electronic assembly and inspection standards. Experience in documenting production activities and maintaining accurate records. Comfort working in a startup-style production environment with evolving processes and layouts. Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality and consistency in assembly work. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks such as kitting, packaging, and labeling. Why Work Here? Each assembler has an individual workstation equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to perform soldering and assembly tasks efficiently. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday on a first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with no overtime required. The dress code is manufacturing casual, including closed-toe shoes, pants, t-shirts, and jackets as appropriate for comfort and safety on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00
