We are currently seeking Cable Assembly Operatives in our San Fernando location. This is an excellent opportunity in lighting cable assembly. Enter into an exciting sector of the entertainment industry! The Cable Assembly Operative is responsible for soldering, assembling data and power cables to a high standard of quality. This includes cable cutting, soldering, applying connectors, testing, and quality inspections to specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must have knowledge in Soldering Transport connectors and cables from warehouse to assembly area Carry out the cable assembly process, including soldering, as instructed by following printed assembly instruction documents Apply custom labeling of cable assembly products as instructed by supervisor and by following printed custom label instruction documents Quality Control inspection of cable assemblies following written instructional documents Adhere to safety standards by practicing safe working processes Keep workstation clean and clear of any debris, and maintain tools/equipment properly Advise Cable Lead of any broken, incomplete parts, as well as inconsistencies/safety hazards Test all cables and place individual tested labels on "main" cables Stack/organize completed cable assemblies per work order or sales order Familiarity with repeat TMB customers and specifics required on their orders Ability to meet frequent deadlines in order to deliver same-day service for some orders Willingness to assist across departments if necessary (i.e. Warehouse, Quality Control) Ability to work well with others displaying a positive attitude
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
3+ years' experience in a similar role. Attention to detail. Good working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, basic connectivity issues (female to male electrical connections) and assembly concepts.
Physical Requirements:
Use of hand tools. Soldering. Frequent sitting and standing. Moderate walking and reaching. Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 40 lbs.
Skills/Requirements:
Good working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, basic connectivity issues (female to male electrical connections) and assembly concepts Soldering skills Cable assembly experience Electrical assembly experience Electronic assembly experience Experience working with electrical connectors, cable, or wires Familiarity with the use of hand tools - especially electrical hand tools (wire cutters, wire strippers, connector crimp tools etc) Good hand eye coordination skills Ability to follow written assembly instructions Attention to fine detail essential
Preferred Skills:
Advanced soldering experience. Knowledge of part numbers and names of connectors and cable. Experience with a vast array of cable building, QC'ing, and repairs.
Schedule:
8 hours per day, M-F, with occasional overtime and/or weekends as needed.
