Job Description

Position Title:
Soldering Technician (Through-Hole)
Classification:
Non-Exempt Position Summary The Soldering Technician is responsible for assembling and soldering electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) using surface mount (SMT) and through-hole techniques. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform hand soldering of electronic components using SMT and through-hole methods Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions Inspect solder joints to ensure quality and compliance with established standards Repair and rework defective assemblies as required Operate soldering equipment, including soldering irons, hot air tools, and desoldering equipment Maintain a clean, organized workstation in accordance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or process issues Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines Meet production schedules and quality requirements Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Basic soldering experience (SMT and/or through-hole preferred) Ability to use hand tools and small electronic assembly equipment Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings and instructions High attention to detail Preferred Qualifications IPC soldering certification (e.g., IPC-A-610 or
J-STD-001
) Prior experience in electronics manufacturing or assembly Familiarity with ESD safety practices TMP123
