Job Description:
We are seeking an Electrical Technician to support the development and production of next‑generation National Defense High‑Energy Laser (HEL) systems. These systems are designed to be rugged, compact, and capable of operating in some of the most challenging environments. In this role, you will be a key contributor to hands‑on electrical assembly, cable fabrication, soldering, and testing activities that directly impact mission‑critical defense programs. This position is ideal for a technician with strong attention to detail who enjoys working in manufacturing and clean‑room environments and supporting advanced electro‑optical systems from build through test.
Work Environment:
This position is onsite in Longmont, CO. Hands‑on laboratory and production environment supporting aerospace & defense programs.

PTO Responsibilities:
Perform electrical assembly of cables, harnesses, and electronic hardware Fabricate and assemble copper and fiber cables for lab and system‑level setups Perform soldering of electrical and electronic components in accordance with IPC standards (IPC‑A‑610 / IPC‑620) Conduct electrical testing and inspection of cables, assemblies, and printed circuit boards (PCBs) Support testing, troubleshooting, and rework of electrical assemblies and cable faults Inspect incoming parts and completed assemblies for quality, workmanship, and compliance Accurately document build processes, inspections, test results, and non‑conformances Maintain clean‑room protocols and adhere to ESD and safety requirements Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support development, integration, and test activities
Qualifications:
Required:
3+ years of hands‑on experience as an Electrical Technician or similar role Demonstrated experience with electrical assembly and cable fabrication Strong soldering skills, including fine‑pitch and precision work Experience performing electrical testing and inspection on cables and PCBs Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 and/or IPC‑620 workmanship standards Ability to read and follow schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, and work instructions Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality, repeatable workmanship
Preferred:
Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field Experience supporting aerospace, defense, laser, or electro‑optical systems Experience with fiber‑optic cable testing and handling Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longmont, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
