Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Panel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assembling and wiring industrial electrical control panels, including high and low-voltage components, PLCs, relays, contactors, and motor controls. This position plays a key role in building panels that operate hoists and overhead cranes.
Responsibilities:
Assemble, wire, and install electrical control panels according to schematics and wiring diagrams. Work with high and low voltage components, PLCs, relays, contactors, fuses, and terminal blocks. Ensure proper layout, routing, and labeling of wiring for clean, safe, and functional panel builds. Test and verify panel wiring and component functionality before shipment or installation. Perform troubleshooting and corrections as needed. Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following company and OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship a plus. Minimum 1 year of experience building or wiring electrical control panels. Knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. Experience with motor control circuits and industrial automation components (PLCs, relays, contactors). Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred:
Experience building panels for cranes, hoists, or heavy industrial equipment. Familiarity with UL 508A standards for control panels. Forklift certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
