Job Description

Overview If you have a drive to support the farming industry, and have experience soldering electronics in a production environment, we want you to consider a position at Scale-Tec. Apply today! We are seeking a skilled Solderer to join our dynamic load cell sensor manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience with various soldering techniques, particularly in working with hand soldering electrical wiring to components on a PCB. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and functionality of our products through precise soldering and assembly processes. Duties
  • Work well in a fast paced/demanding but very detail oriented position.
  • Work with the production manager and team leads to meet production goals.
  • Follow work instruction and traveler report requirements.
  • Solder to strain gauge sensors and other components in accordance with Scale-tec quality standards.
  • Visually inspect all solder connections and have the ability to identify cold solder joints, bad terminations and apply proper cleaning techniques and processes.
  • 100% inspection of soldering connections of your work and other team members and other designated critical QC checkpoints.
  • Support production in alerting assemblers, team leads and management of workmanship errors and any other issues to make necessary corrections.
  • The goal of the position is to ensure the wiring of every load cell is a 100% quality product. Includes soldering, wiring, cleaning and working with small hand tools while using digital work instruction and other production processes.
  • Continuous Improvement identification and evaluation of soldering equipment, to help improve profitability, safety, and quality of the soldering techniques used at Scale-Tec.
  • May be assigned to different product lines as necessary to meet customer and/or company objectives. Requirements
  • Ability to utilize work instruction software and follow instructions (English).
  • Experience with Traveler Reports within the manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, including familiarity with electrical wiring and schematics.
  • Good Training Retention.
  • Familiarity with following processes in general assembly of product.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and typing skills.
  • 3 years of soldering experience.
  • IPC-J-STD-001
    Certified IPC Specialist (current or within the last 4 years).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience following safety procedures and precautions while performing your duties. Requirements
  • Must be able to pass an OSHA approved respiratory assessment with a spirometer.
(This assessment will be conducted within the first 90 Days of employment). This includes Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire Part A (Mandatory)

  • Ability to stand, sit, squat, twist, kneel, climb ladders, push WIP , full range of motion and/or walk throughout the work shift as the task requires.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
  • Hold hand and arm position steady for several seconds.
  • Ability to grip, manipulate, and assemble small parts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to effectively work in both high-variety and high-repetition environments for full shift.
  • Requires minimal breaks beyond schedule.
  • Requires the ability to wear a Scale-Tec provided 3M respiratory mask.
