Job Title:
Electro-Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Electro-Mechanical Assembler builds high-reliability electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies from component parts, working from instructions and documentation to produce quality products. This role performs detailed soldering, wiring, cable and harness fabrication, and mechanical integration while completing required paperwork and following established procedures and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Build electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies from component parts by following work instructions, drawings, and documentation. Complete all paperwork and documentation associated with assembly orders accurately and on time. Adhere to all company operating procedures and quality requirements throughout the assembly process. Perform surface-mount and through-hole soldering on printed circuit boards in accordance with specifications. Trim, clip, crimp, and tin wires and leads to prepare them for assembly and connection. Properly label finished products to ensure accurate identification and traceability. Fabricate, test, and troubleshoot electrical cables, harnesses, electronic components, and assemblies for high-reliability integration. Build harnesses and cables using appropriate tools, techniques, and documentation. Assemble, fabricate, and inspect complex box builds, ensuring they meet design and quality requirements. Integrate electrical and mechanical assemblies, ensuring proper fit, function, and alignment. Install, mount, fasten, align, and adjust parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to subassemblies and assemblies using hand and small power tools. Operate automatic and semi-automatic machines to position, solder, and clean specified components on printed circuit boards. Identify and replace defective components and perform repair and overhaul work on older assemblies when required. Coordinate with shipping, receiving, packing, and stockroom functions to support material flow as needed. Organize and expedite materials to ensure timely completion of production orders. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience performing surface-mount and through-hole soldering on printed circuit boards. Proficiency in trimming, clipping, crimping, and tinning wires and leads. Hands-on experience fabricating, testing, and troubleshooting electrical cables, harnesses, and electronic components. Ability to assemble, inspect, and rework complex box builds and integrated electro-mechanical assemblies. Skill in using hand tools and small power tools for installation, mounting, fastening, aligning, and adjusting components. Ability to operate automatic and semi-automatic machines for soldering and cleaning printed circuit board components. Knowledge of shipping, receiving, packing, and stockroom processes and procedures. Good verbal and written communication skills to follow instructions and document work clearly. Ability to organize and expedite materials to support production schedules. Ability to operate a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Ability to operate a computer with working knowledge of Excel and Office applications. Approximately two years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with high-reliability integration of electronic assemblies and components. Background in mechanical assembly, including reading and working from blueprints or fabrication drawings. Experience in electronic assembly and production environments, including PCB assembly. Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical components in integrated systems. Attention to detail and strong focus on quality and adherence to procedures. Ability to identify defective components and perform repair or overhaul on existing assemblies. Willingness to support related stockroom or material handling activities when needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing setting that combines electronic and mechanical assembly activities. You will work at benches and workstations using hand tools, small power tools, and automatic or semi-automatic machines for soldering and cleaning printed circuit boards. The environment involves frequent handling of cables, harnesses, and box builds, as well as interaction with shipping, receiving, packing, and stockroom areas. Computer use is part of the daily workflow for accessing documentation and using Excel and Office applications. Forklift operation may be required to move materials and support production. Standard production-floor attire appropriate for a manufacturing and assembly environment is expected, with adherence to all applicable safety and quality procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
