Job Title:
Electronics Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling and wiring custom electrical equipment used in agricultural applications. You will build and assemble electrical and electronic components, perform wire pulling and hand wiring, and work with pumps, VFD drives, hydraulics, and high-voltage systems. The position requires careful attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, and comfort working in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assemble custom electrical equipment and components according to blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Perform electrical assembly, including wire pulling, hand wiring, and routing of wire harnesses. Work with pumps, VFD drives, hydraulics, and high-voltage electrical systems as part of equipment builds. Use hand tools and power tools to perform both electronic and mechanical assembly tasks. Operate and apply measurement and test equipment, such as multimeters for voltage, continuity, and resistance checks, and insulation resistance testers for motor and VFD cable testing. Support signal diagnostics work using oscilloscopes when needed for bench work. Apply proper torque using torque screwdrivers and torque wrenches to tighten terminal blocks, VFD lugs, and other critical connections. Use precision screwdrivers to assemble and service small electronics and control boards. Crimp ferrules, ring terminals, and spade terminals using appropriate crimping tools and verify connection quality. Strip, cut, and prepare wires and cables using adjustable-gauge wire strippers, cable cutters, and cutting tools for rubber hose. Measure components and panel layouts using calipers or micrometers to ensure accurate spacing and fit. Form and route conduit and cables using cable benders and related tools as required by the assembly design. Perform light mechanical assembly tasks related to electrical systems in a warehouse/light manufacturing environment. Lift up to 50 pounds, stand for the duration of the shift, and perform bending and twisting as needed to complete assembly work. Follow safety procedures and best practices for working with electrical equipment and high-voltage systems. Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care. Collaborate with team members and communicate any assembly issues, wiring discrepancies, or quality concerns promptly. Support overtime work when needed to meet production schedules and customer demand. Essential Skills Electrical experience and knowledge of electrical components. Proficiency in electrical wiring and hands-on electrical work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. Experience building or assembling electrical equipment or components from start to finish. Experience with electrical assembly, electronic assembly, and wire harness assembly. Comfort working with high-voltage electrical systems, pumps, VFD drives, and hydraulics. Ability to perform wire pulling and hand wiring accurately and safely. Proficiency using hand tools and basic power tools for assembly tasks. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for the entire shift, with frequent bending and twisting. Attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions and diagrams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using a multimeter for voltage, continuity, and resistance measurements. Experience with insulation resistance testers for motor and VFD cable insulation testing. Familiarity with oscilloscopes for signal diagnostics in bench work. Ability to use torque screwdrivers and torque wrenches for precise tightening of electrical connections. Skill using precision screwdrivers for small electronics and control boards. Experience with crimping tools for ferrules, ring terminals, and spade terminals. Proficiency with adjustable-gauge wire strippers and cable cutters for copper and aluminum conductors. Experience using calipers or micrometers for component spacing and panel layout verification. Familiarity with cable benders and conduit tools in electrical assembly work. Experience using pneumatic screwdrivers and other powered assembly tools. Experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morton, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
