Our equipment is installed in transmission substations and power plants to record system voltages, currents, power, and power system telemetry. APP Engineering is seeking a full-time Electronics Manufacturing Technician to support the manufacturing, assembly, testing, and production of electronic recording and monitoring equipment. Position Summary The Electronics Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly of electronic products and systems used in power recording and monitoring applications. This position supports manufacturing operations through panel construction, chassis assembly, circuit board population and soldering, equipment testing, troubleshooting, and final product preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Education & Experience Associate degree or higher required Electronics manufacturing or related technical experience preferred Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of panels used in transmission line substations Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of computer chassis used in power recording equipment Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of data chassis used in power recording equipment Populate and solder circuit boards using both surface mount and through-hole techniques Operate SMT pick-and-place lines and/or through-hole manufacturing lines Perform general manufacturing and production duties as assigned After training and product experience, perform electrical testing and documentation of newly manufactured circuit boards Troubleshoot circuit boards and related electronic assemblies Perform product setup, electrical testing, system checkout, and pre-shipment finalization of newly manufactured dynamic monitoring and recording systems Assist with maintaining and organizing in-house test equipment and work areas Follow company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements at all times Support production deadlines and assist with additional manufacturing duties as needed Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications Experience using hand tools such as drills, taps, scales, and soldering irons Understanding of electronic circuit theory and ability to read electrical schematics Experience with board-level soldering, including surface mount and through-hole components Ability to read point-to-point wiring diagrams and basic mechanical drawings Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems Experience in the power engineering or electric utility industry is a plus Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Strong work ethic with the ability to self-direct and remain motivated Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production needs Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as needed Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flexible scheduling may be available for candidates pursuing additional coursework toward a Bachelor's degree Overtime and Saturday work may be required based on operational needs Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 lbs Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 75 lbs with or without assistance Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work at a manufacturing workstation for extended periods Ability to use hand tools and manufacturing equipment safely and effectively Ability to move throughout the production and warehouse areas as needed Additional Information This job description is not intended to include all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the position.
