Job Description

Build the equipment artists rely on At AMACO—founded in 1919 and still family-owned—we manufacture industry-leading ceramic supplies, including electric kilns and Brent potter's wheels. Classification:
Hourly, Non-Exempt Your impact Turn raw materials into finished AMACO/Brent products through precise mechanical and electrical subassembly Inspect, assemble, label, and package components to documented standards Measure twice—cut once: master tape measures and other gauges for accuracy Operate power tools safely; lift and move parts and products (frequently 50+ lbs.) Own product quality across each build stage Pitch in on additional tasks as assigned; occasionally train teammates Where and how you'll work Reports to the Mechanical Division Supervisor; assignments may come from department leader(s) or designated personnel Manufacturing floor environment with on-the-job training Occasional hot conditions and prolonged standing Capabilities we're looking for Proven skill with power tools and shop equipment Comfort reading blueprints and wiring diagrams Accurate measuring and shop math fundamentals Mechanical assembly experience, including soldering Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills Self-sufficient, organized, and time-conscious
Plus:
qualified to perform both Assembler and Electrical & Mechanical Sub-Assembler duties Physical requirements Regular talking/hearing; frequent standing, walking, manual dexterity, and reaching. Occasional sitting, climbing/balancing, and stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling. Frequent lifting/moving of 50+ lbs.
