This position is responsible for the preparation, assembly, termination, and inspection of complex wire harnesses and cable assemblies used in high-quality manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with wire preparation, crimping, cable harness assembly, electrical wiring, and interpretation of technical drawings and wiring documentation. Candidates with a strong background in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, industrial automation, telecommunications, or electromechanical assembly are highly encouraged to apply. Key ResponsibilitiesWire Preparation & Termination Perform wire cutting, stripping, labeling, terminating, and crimping operations according to engineering specifications and work instructions. Select and install appropriate terminals, connectors, contacts, heat shrink tubing, and cable protection materials. Verify wire lengths, conductor sizes, and termination requirements to ensure compliance with design specifications. Cable & Wire Harness Assembly Build and assemble cable assemblies and wire harnesses from engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Route, bundle, lace, tie-wrap, and secure wiring according to established manufacturing standards. Install connectors, backshells, terminals, and other electrical components while maintaining workmanship standards. Quality & Inspection Conduct visual inspections of completed assemblies for workmanship, accuracy, and compliance with specifications. Identify and correct defects including improper crimps, damaged conductors, incorrect wire routing, labeling discrepancies, and connector issues. Perform continuity testing and basic electrical verification when required. Maintain quality standards while meeting daily production objectives. Manufacturing Support Accurately document completed work and production activities. Maintain organized workstations and proper material control. Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve assembly issues and improve manufacturing processes. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in wire harness assembly, cable assembly, electrical assembly, wiring, or related manufacturing environments. Proven experience with wire cutting, stripping, crimping, terminating, and cable routing. Experience using wire preparation tools, crimping equipment, wire strippers, cutters, and hand tools. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks with precision and consistency. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Experience in industrial control panel manufacturing, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, power distribution, or electromechanical assembly. Familiarity with
IPC/WHMA-A-620
standards. Experience with continuity testing, multimeters, or basic electrical testing equipment. Experience working in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments. Previous experience assembling complex cable and harness systems. Physical Requirements Ability to perform detailed hand assembly work for extended periods. Frequent use of hands and fingers for fine motor tasks. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
