Job Description

Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to assemble, solder, inspect, and repair electronic components and circuit boards. This role requires strong attention to detail, steady hands, and familiarity with soldering standards such as IPCA-610 and
J-STD-001.
This role requires adherence to stringent quality standards, detailed technical specifications, and industry regulations. The technician will contribute to building high-reliability products that meet the safety and performance requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform hand soldering of through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) components. Assemble and rework printed circuit boards (PCBs) with precision and consistency. Use soldering irons, hot air rework stations, microscopes, and other electronic assembly tools. Apply flux, tinning, and soldering techniques according to engineering drawings. Inspect solder joints under microscopes or magnifiers. Verify assemblies meet IPC or customer-specific quality standards. Identify defects such as cold joints, bridging, tombstoning, and insufficient solder. Conduct electrical continuity checks when required. Read and follow schematics, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions. Complete production documentation and maintain accurate records. Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures. Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards. Perform component removal and replacement using hot-air tools or reflow equipment. Troubleshoot and repair PCB-level issues. Clean boards and components using approved methods (solvents, ultrasonic cleaners, etc.)
Competencies:
Precision soldering PCB assembly & rework Microscopic inspection Hand tools & bench equipment proficiency Documentation accuracy Strong problem-solving ability Quality-focused mindset Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent, GED 1 year of soldering experience with IPC-610 Certification. 3 years of soldering experience without IPC-610 experience. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards Technical aptitude and experience with tools and machinery
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a manufacturing setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and calculators. While on the floor, you may be subject to loud noises.
Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Pay:
$19.91 - $26.57 per hour
