Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling custom sheet metal products using hand and power tools, electro-mechanical equipment, and test instruments. You will read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and work instructions to assemble, wire, and test products while ensuring dimensional accuracy and consistent quality. The position requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with inspection processes, and the ability to follow digital and written job documentation in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assemble custom sheet metal products using hand and power tools in accordance with job tickets, manuals, and digital instructions. Use electro-mechanical and test equipment to assemble, wire, and test products based on sheet metal prints and electrical schematics. Assemble components, make wiring connections, and perform testing using hand tools, pneumatic tools, electrical and electronic tools, and related equipment. Accurately route, connect, fasten, and secure wires according to diagrams, wiring schematics, or work instructions. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and work instructions to ensure correct assembly and wiring. Use inspection equipment to verify custom dimensions and confirm that quality standards are met. Follow established processes, policies, and quality standards to ensure consistent, high-quality output. Document and follow best practices to support quality and productivity expectations. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work, clarify instructions, and support a collaborative environment. Essential Skills At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience. Experience using hand and power tools in an assembly environment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and wiring schematics. Ability to work from job tickets, manuals, and digital work instructions. Familiarity with inspection processes and systems controls. High school education or GED equivalent. Appropriate communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and listen effectively. Strong process and detail orientation with the ability to follow established procedures accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ year of electrical assembly experience preferred. Experience with electro-mechanical and electronic assembly. Experience using inspection equipment to verify dimensions and quality. Setup experience specific to department or equipment. Ability to discuss, deploy, and document best practices to support quality and productivity. Comfort working with wiring, schematics, and electro-mechanical systems. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a sheet metal fabrication and assembly environment with a moderate noise level. The role follows a weekend shift schedule of 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday, working 36 hours while being paid for 40 hours. Training is provided on weekend shifts, with additional training opportunities on first and second shifts depending on experience. You will work with hand and power tools, pneumatic tools, electrical and electronic tools, test equipment, and inspection instruments. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes and pants to ensure safety on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
