The purpose of the Operator and Assembler position is to: 1) Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, products or systems according to company work instructions and customer specifications; 2) Operate one or more of the following machines: Wave Solder, Contact, or Surface Mount Tech Machine, 3) Ensures compliance to quality standards on each project or job while maintaining production goals; and 4) Follows company policy and procedure ensuring a safe, respectful workplace.Essential Duties/Responsibilities :
Profile and set up, operate, and maintain wave solder, selective solder, semi-auto solder and surface mount equipment. Follow production drawings and work instructions for assigned company work order. Rework and/or repair defective units to conform to customer specifications. Performs intermediate assembly tasks. Solder surface mount and thru-hole assemblies. Ensures compliance to quality standards on each project or job while maintaining production goals. Pull, process, and count parts for accuracy. Maintains production records, logs, and other report forms. Identify and inform Operations Team Lead of any product defects or production process issues. Direct interaction with engineers. Maintain a clean, safe work environment free of FOD Perform other duties as assigned.Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
1-3 years of manufacturing/production assembly experience required. Experience within electronics manufacturing preferred. Current or previous certifications in IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-Std preferred. Certifications must be obtained after hire. Strong attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer literacy skills and experience with Microsoft Applications.Work Environment:
On the shop floor, employees are required to wear safety equipment consisting of: closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, heel straps, wrist straps, and electro-static discharge lab coats while on the production floor and are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and minimal risk of electrical shock.
