As a Fintube Assembly Technician at McElroy , you'll assemble heavy‑duty equipment used around the world to produce high‑quality finned tube for heat exchangers. This is precision mechanical work, but it's also about craftsmanship — working with your hands, using tools, solving problems, and being part of a tight‑knit team. If you've ever put together complex machinery, worked with hydraulics, pneumatics, or rotating equipment, and you enjoy seeing something come to life because you built it, this could be a great fit. Experience running a fintube machine is a major plus and will help you hit the ground running. What You'll Do Assemble and fasten machine components such as bearings, gearboxes, drives, and guards. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure proper alignment and function. Hook up hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Check alignment, clearances, and movement of rotating equipment. Test, run, and verify machine performance before shipment. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or system issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Occasionally assist with installations or upgrades at customer sites. Operate, test, or support operation of fintube machines when required. What You Bring At least 3 years of experience assembling industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or similar systems . Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Comfortable using precision tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and alignment tools. Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical work. Familiarity with safe lifting, rigging, and handling of large components. Experience running or supporting fintube machines is strongly preferred. Bonus points for experience with welding processes, PLC controls, or finning equipment. Why You'll Like Working Here You'll build machines used worldwide — and take pride in the craftsmanship behind them. Climate‑controlled shop, strong safety culture, and a team that looks out for each other. Competitive pay, great benefits, and paid training. Opportunities to learn new skills and grow your career. Physical Requirements Generally, 95% of the normal work shift requires standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while running production, inspecting work and machines and checking procedures. Job requires moving of material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
