Join the Beck team as an experienced Sub-Assembler, building the intricate mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies that power Beck's ultra‑reliable electric actuators. Working independently from CAD drawings, blueprints, and written instructions, you will perform precision assembly, hand‑soldering of electrical components, wire processing (cutting, stripping, crimping, tinning), torque wrench applications, and functional testing using multimeters and hipot testers. In this role, you'll also train and guide fellow assemblers, champion workplace organization, drive Lean Manufacturing improvements, and maintain exacting quality standards—delivering the robust sub‑assemblies required for Beck actuators to perform flawlessly in mission‑critical applications. Shift Opportunities We are open to candidates interested in either 1st Shift or 2nd Shift roles. 2nd Shift positions include a 15% shift differentialPrimary Responsibilities:
Complete mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-assembly work utilizing written instructions and CAD drawings. Perform hand soldering per written instructions and CAD drawings.Perform wire-processing tasks including:
cutting, stripping, crimping, tinning of wire. Participate in workplace organization projects and the integration of Lean concepts. Perform other general shop duties or assist other departments as business demands require.Professional and Personal Requirements:
3 to 5 years of related mechanical or electrical assembly experience. At least 1 year of successful performance with Beck sub-assembly work. Proficient with hand tools and torque wrenches. Experience with basic electronic equipment such as multi-meters and portable signal sources is helpful. Knowledgeable with soldering electrical / electronic components. Must be able to work independently from blue prints, sketches, oral, or written instructions without supervision or technical guidance. Regular attendance and daily punctuality are necessary for performing the job. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Must have proven professional qualities including strong initiative, integrity, and the desire and ability to work effectively as a member of various work teams. Possess a working knowledge and the ability to apply the concepts of Lean Manufacturing to achieve continuous production improvements. Must be able to speak, write, and read English and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, method sheets, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Work overtime as needed when business demands require. Must possess basic computer skills.Education Requirements:
• High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required.Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to perform repetitious tasks. Must possess good manual dexterity. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment includes regular exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and respirators.Advancement Path:
