$18/hrGeneral Purpose:
The Electrical & Mechanical Assembler performs a variety of electrical and mechanical component installations, assemblies, and inspections on products and subassemblies along a production line. This role requires the ability to follow detailed instructions, interpret technical drawings, and ensure all assemblies meet quality and safety standards. The assembler may also perform minor repairs and assist with troubleshooting production issues.Principal Accountabilities:
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions. Assemble electrical and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Position, align, and secure parts and components using fixtures, jigs, or holding devices. Perform mechanical assembly tasks such as fastening, bolting, screwing, riveting, and press-fitting parts. Perform electrical assembly including wiring, cable routing, crimping, and connecting components. Install subassemblies, modules, and components into enclosures, racks, or panels. Mount and connect electrical components such as switches, relays, circuit boards, and connectors. Perform soldering, wiring, and cable termination as required. Conduct intermediate assembly processes such as cleaning, sealing, bonding, and curing components. Perform quality checks, inspections, and basic testing to ensure assemblies meet specifications. Set up workstations with appropriate tools, materials, and documentation. Adjust or trim components to meet electrical and mechanical specifications. Troubleshoot and assist with minor repairs or rework of assemblies. Communicate production or quality issues to supervisors, engineers, or team leads. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with preventive maintenance of tools and production equipment.Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred. 1-3+ years of experience in electrical and/or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, soldering, and mechanical assembly techniques. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
