This role involves the precise setup, operation, and maintenance of SMT equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical skills, with a focus on ensuring high-quality electronic assemblies. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes within a dynamic environment committed to excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Operate and monitor SMT machines to ensure accurate placement of electronic components onto PCBs according to specified schematics and IPC 610 standards. Set up equipment, including programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and configuring machine parameters for different product runs. Perform routine inspections and quality checks on assembled PCBs, verifying solder joints and component placement. Conduct soldering tasks, both manual and machine-assisted, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Maintain detailed documentation of production processes, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, ohmmeters, and machining equipment to support assembly and troubleshooting activities. Troubleshoot electrical wiring issues or mechanical faults in SMT equipment and perform necessary repairs or adjustments. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Experience Proven experience working with PCB manufacturing processes, particularly surface mount technology. Familiarity with IPC 610 standards for electronic assemblies. Knowledge of schematic reading, electrical wiring, and mechanical assembly techniques. Hands-on experience with soldering techniques and the use of hand tools and power tools in an electronics manufacturing setting. Understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their application in automated manufacturing equipment. Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and technical manuals related to electronics assembly. Previous exposure to machining operations or calibration tools such as calipers or ohmmeters is advantageous. Electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge is highly desirable for troubleshooting complex issues.
