Job Description

Job Summary:
This Automation Electrical Assembler position is responsible for the physical assembly of electrical control panels, junction boxes, wire harnesses from prints, wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. This role is responsible for the testing and assembly of all panel shop products to ensure quality, functionality, and compliance with company standards. It is essential to be able to communicate effectively with all team members, leads, builders, engineers, and management to ensure productivity targets are met. While this position is listed as an Automation Electrical Assembler, you will work closely within your team at Boss Products, and they will work with you to ensure timely shipping goals are met while maintaining safety standards, policy and the company's culture. This position reports to the Production Lead and Manager respectively.
Major Duties:
  • Fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel
  • Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
  • Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards
  • Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, interfaces, and instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
  • Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication
  • Communicate red line changes to Engineer or Lead for revision prior to completion
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as needed
  • Complies with federal, state, and local material handling requirements
  • Safeguards control panel operations and contents by adhering to security procedures and protocol
  • Controls inventory levels by taking part in physical counts; reconciling with data storage system per protocol
  • Maintains physical condition of control panel area by ensuring end of day organizing and cleaning duties are performed
  • Perform testing of finished product and final inspection
  • Testing and assembly of all panel shop products to ensure quality, functionality, and compliance with company standards.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school attendance preferred
  • Ability to understand and work from schematics preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology preferred
Preferred Software Knowledge:
  • Inventory Management System(s) - Oracle, SalesForce, Fishbowl or Similar
Microsoft Office Suite Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk/working on a computer (often)
  • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs. (occasionally)
  • Warehouse environments with occasional extreme heat/loud machinery (occasionally)
