Job Description

The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling and integrating all types of water pumping station controls and components to close tolerances and strict requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Ability to assemble parts, properly position, align and fasten to assemblies and sub-assemblies using hand tools and/or power tools. May assign work, instruct, and check work and procedures for assemblers of lower classification and helpers. Work from complicated drawings, schematics, and specifications. Strong hands-on technical skills in electrical assembly processes including but not limited to control integration and knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Proficiency with all basic hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, torque tools, crimpers, soldering irons, hand drills, Dremel and sanders. Plan and lay out work having variations in standard procedures when required. Cut, form, and connect wiring in accordance with specifications utilizing available space for best workmanship and results. Complete all work or job-related documents and measurements. Provide input on product and process improvements, as well as corrections to drawings, specifications, or bill of materials Job Requirements To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to close tolerances and strict inspection. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience Required education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in either electronics or electro-mechanical assembly and test or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Understanding of basic circuitry, electronic components, and their functions Basic electronics coursework or schooling preferred Requires good oral and written communication skills to interact with and provide work direction to other employees Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and routings Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must frequently lift 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee will frequently stand or walk, occasionally talk and listen, and move from place to place. He/she will frequently use hands to handle or touch. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment characteristics for this position are in an industrial setting where all policies regarding safety have to be followed. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
