Mechanical and Electrical Assembler - Small Power Drives Job Description This role focuses on the mechanical and electrical assembly of small power drives, using hand and power tools to build products according to engineering documentation. You will work with small components in a clean, organized environment, ensuring that each unit meets quality standards and that all production information is accurately recorded. Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of small power drives according to engineering documents and work instructions. Use small hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during the assembly process. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to correctly assemble components and subassemblies. Assemble products and components with attention to detail, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and function. Operate a computer system to update and maintain the manufacturing status of jobs in real time. Continually monitor the quality of parts and components used in the assembly process and report any defects or issues. Complete and maintain all required production paperwork and electronic records accurately and on time. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement of assembly processes. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings. Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics. Proficiency using small hand tools and basic power tools for assembly work. Experience with mechanical assembly of small parts and components. Experience with electrical assembly tasks such as wiring and component installation. Basic computer skills to operate manufacturing systems and update job status. High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong attention to detail and quality in all assembly tasks. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standardized work procedures. Good manual dexterity for small part assembly. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and tools. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a very clean, modern manufacturing facility focused on small part assembly with no heavy lifting required. Work is performed on either a first shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) or a second shift (2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.), providing structured hours in a stable production setting. You will work at assembly stations using small hand and power tools, computers for updating job status, and standard production equipment, in an environment that prioritizes organization, safety, and comfort. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
