Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description As a Mechanical Assembler, you will perform mechanical and electrical assembly of overhead crane units using hand tools, precision measuring tools, and detailed blueprints. You will contribute directly to the quality and reliability of complex equipment by accurately fitting, aligning, and assembling components according to specifications. Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of overhead crane units according to detailed blueprints and work instructions. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine assembly methods, component locations, and measurement requirements. Use tape measures and other measuring tools to measure and verify parts to precise tolerances, including down to 1/16 of an inch. Assemble, fit, and align mechanical components using appropriate hand tools and equipment. Inspect assembled parts and units to ensure they meet quality, safety, and dimensional specifications. Handle general labor tasks related to the assembly process, such as organizing parts, preparing workstations, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve assembly issues and ensure efficient workflow. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating tools and performing assembly tasks. Work overtime as needed to support production demands and meet project deadlines. Essential Skills At least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. Ability to measure parts accurately down to 1/16 of an inch. Hands-on experience using common hand tools for mechanical assembly. Experience with mechanical and basic electrical assembly tasks. Ability to perform repetitive assembly work with accuracy and attention to detail. Capability to perform general labor tasks in a production or assembly environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience assembling large industrial or mechanical equipment is an advantage. Familiarity with overhead crane components or similar systems is beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills to identify and correct assembly issues. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production schedules. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time, first-shift position with typical hours from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., operating on a 9-hour day schedule that has been in place for several years. Overtime is readily available to support production needs. The work takes place in a clean, well-maintained facility focused on safe and efficient assembly operations. You will use hand tools, measuring devices such as tape measures, and work from blueprints at designated assembly stations in a production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
